San Pedro is a charming and traditionally Spanish town close to Puerto Banús sitting at the base of the Sierra de Ronda mountain range, located 10km from Marbella and 20km from Estepona.
The main street through the centre of San Pedro is pedestrianised and covers the motorway tunnel, making it a safe and pleasant environment with no main road passing through it. A pleasant walk is from the centre of San Pedro town to the beachfront along the Avenida del Marques del Duero which is a particularly attractive wide avenue flanked by palm trees. And the modern wide promenade is ideal for continuing your stroll (or skateboarding!) with several excellent chiringuitos (beachside restaurants) specialising in fish dishes. Visit Bora Bora if only for a drink at the bar. It is one of the best beach clubs on the coast, with a superb restaurant and all the usual beach facilities, a tropical paradise.
San Pedro is a great mix of traditional architecture and culture and modern sports facilities with padel courts and gyms. It is also close to some superb golf courses to the north and east, including Guadalmina, La Quinta and Atalaya Golf.
Heading to the beach, it boasts a wonderful promenade where you can enjoy a leisurely walk and take time out at a variety of beach bars and restaurants. The long sandy beaches are inviting and this whole area offers a wonderful “away from it all” holiday for activity seekers or beach goers alike.
Back into town and be sure to head for the San Pedro central plaza here with its gracious parish church and surrounding narrow streets which are packed with intriguing small shops, sidewalk cafes and bars. Thursday is street market day with all the associated hustle and bustle; a veritable bargain shopper's paradise.
San Pedro also has the last summer fair ( feria ) in Andalucia being in the second week in October. To view properties in this area, please click here
